My go to Green Smoothie
Today I’m sharing my GO TO green smoothie recipe with you. This was actually the first smoothie recipe I ever made myself at home and is still my favorite!
This smoothie always takes me back to the time I was living in New York. There were so many amazing health food stores, farmers markets and juice bars there. I felt so drawn to it all! It sparked my interest, because I had suffered from acne since the age of 14. Like many people I had tried everything, but nothing would fix the acne. It was in New York that I started researching what certain foods can do for your body and then especially how they can help heal your acne.
Every morning I started with this particular green smoothie instead of my usual yoghurt with granola. After a couple of weeks I started to see improvement in the severity of my acne. This made me so happy and curious that I started to research more and more and finally found a lifestyle that works for me and keeps my skin acne free.
I will share more of my skin journey and the ‘diet’ that works for me in a blog.
Now about this smoothie, don’t let the vibrant green color scare your off! I like to keep my smoothies low in fruit, so it does not contain too many sugars. It’s way more balanced this way, won’t spike your blood sugar and keeps your energy levels stable.
