Food for skin health

Food for skin health

This post will provide you with 7 different foods that will support healthy looking skin!

The connection between the food you eat and the effect it has on your skin is one of my favorite topics! Healthy skin comes from within and there are certain types of food that contain vitamines and minerals especially beneficial for your skin health.

Here are 7 types of food that will make your glow!

1.Avocado

They are high in healthy fats and contain vitamins E and C, which are important for skin health. Healthy fats help keeping your blood sugar levels stable which leads to less breakouts.

2.Walnuts

They are a great source of omega 3, which helps to lower inflammation in the body and skin. Walnuts also contain zinc, which may help control acne.

3.Blueberries

A true superfood! Super high in antioxidants. These protect the body and skin from free radicals. They are high in vitamins C, we need that for healthy youthful skin.

4.Sauerkraut

Fermented foods like sauerkraut help increase the good bacteria in the gut and have a positive effect on the digestive system. A healthy gut is essential for healthy skin!

5.Spinach

Contains lots of antioxidants and vitamins such as A, C and K which are vital to our skin health and our overall health as well!

6.Sweet potatoes

They are an excellent source of beta carotene which acts as a natural sunblock and may protect your skin from sun damage.

7.Broccoli

Broccoli is full of many vitamins and minerals important for skin health, including zinc and vitamin A and C. It also contains sulforaphane, which may help prevent skin cancer and protect your skin from sunburn.

8.Dark chocolate

Dark chocolate is loaded with nutrients that can positively effect your skin health. Made from seeds from the cacao tree it’s one of the best sources of antioxidants out there. It needs to be high quality dark chocolate with a high cacao content, only then it can be nutritious. The higher the cacao content the less sugar.
